Theresa, sorry, just didn't know where else to post this on your blog. I originally responded with what's below on www.mikehuckabee.com but wanted you to have a look at it here too. Here is what I posted there:

"Theresa Markham - I had a read of your "Why I like Mke" on your blog (http://i-like-mike-huckabee.blogspot.com/), I like what you had to say about Mike.

I, too, am not associated with any Christian group, I like Mike because he shows me a strong common sense and I get the idea that he tends to look more to the root of an issue/problem rather than trying to treat a symptom.

Example... when I read his "America's Priorities in the War on Terror" (Article written by Mike Huckabee, dated December 16, 2007) which I downloaded from Real Clear Politics, I was impressed at what he had to say. It is an 8 page read for those who are interested in it. I don't know everything about what is going on there, I will admit, but I don't see any other candidate motivating me to find out either. He addresses what we need to do now, but he also addresses one of the roots to all of this... dependence on oil. As a solution in the long run, he is pushing for a 10 year plan to get energy independent. Many say it is not feasible, unrealistic to get there in ten years... I sure hope we as Americans (as we have proven in history), can prove them wrong. Mike Huckabee has that faith and belief in us, but I don't get that from the other candidates.

He looks more to an innovated, educated, rewarded-for-hard-work society that one by one builds up a strong America. That has always worked in America. It has always restored pride in America. It is in essense the pursuit of happiness that involves control in the hands of each person without reliance for in on the government. It allows building a society based on example to our future children, and future America. His issues, his talks hit on this concept.

He puts governing in laymen terms. I don't know about others, but to me, he has made today's government more approachable, with hope of creating change from the grassroots level. He does this by showing he is approachable as well as his wife. This campaign gives me a feel of being able to do something about and that it will be carried over well into the presidency under Huckabee. He shows true gratitude to those who help him in this process.

I find it interesting that the more I "investigate" attacks on him, the more I become aware of the motives of these attacks and the affliations his attackers have to the very groups that We the People are tired of in government. It simply reaffirms to me why we need Mike Huckabee as president. I also find that the more I investigate these attacks and get down to what really happened in the full story, the more my admiration builds up for Mr. Huckabee. Interesting that underneath all that coal, time and time again, is that diamond.

He is inspirational, offers hope, gives real, clear, doable, non abstract solutions and leaves the doors open to see others that may come up, has amazing character and seems to know what the real issues are that effect us at the home more than any other candidate, but at the same time also sees beyond our borders for our safety and well being.

Well, that's why I like Mike."
